What Type of Snorer Are You?
Take this 40 second test to find out exactly why you snore and what to do about it...
Most people snore occasionally, and for a lot of people it’s not a problem.
Some people snore much more regularly however. A lot of times, the person snoring doesn’t even realize that they have a snoring problem, but if you ask their significant other, who has to share a bed with them, they will tell you that their snoring is a problem.
Of course habitual snoring could actually lead to bigger problems.
Problems more than just annoying the people who have to sleep near you. Snoring could prevent you from having a restful night sleep.
You may wake up frequently, even if you don’t realize it. Snoring can also lead to low oxygen levels in the blood, which can eventually lead to pulmonary hypertension.
Snoring can also lead to headaches, fatigue, and a number of other issues.
If you or your partner has a problem with snoring, there is some good news.
There are a number of products on the market that can help to greatly reduce or eliminate snoring.
On this page, we are going to take a closer look at four of those products.

On the ZQuiet website, they say “you probably don’t realize the toll that snoring is taking on both you and your loved ones, but after a few days of using ZQuiet you’ll notice what you’ve been missing for so long.
Like many other anti-snoring products, the ZQuiet is a mouthpiece that helps open up your airways. What makes this product different is that it will work with you whether you need a small or large adjustment to get results.
It was also designed to work right out of the box with no special fitting required.
This device uses what they call “Living Hinge Technology” which allows for natural mouth movement and unrestricted breathing while you sleep.
This means that you will not only be able to stop snoring, but it also eliminates the discomfort that many people experience with other mouthpieces that force your jaw into a clenched position.
Another thing that makes the ZQuiet great is that it’s ready to use right out of the box. It doesn’t require and special fitting or preparation. You can just take it out of the box, put in your mouth, and go right to sleep.
ZQuiet is safe and effective and has been designated as a Class II medical device by the FDA. It’s one of the only companies who went through the process of getting FDA approval.
The ZQuiet is also getting great reviews from customers. Like with most mouthpieces, customers are saying that it takes some time to get used to it. But it does work really well and can stop snoring immediately.
Some customers are saying that their snoring was so bad that their significant other would not even sleep in the same room as them, but after using the ZQuiet, these customers are able to get a good night’s sleep and so are their wives and/or husbands.
One review came from a woman who said that her husband snores very loud and very often, and it has been getting worse over the past few years.
She said that after using the ZQuiet, she was able to sleep next to her husband without asking him to roll over or being awakened in the middle of the night for the first time in 17 years.

The company that makes the Good Morning Snore Solution was founded by a woman named Dr. Nancy Markley, an entrepreneur from Calgary, Alberta Canada.
The product was invented by a dentist from Calgary, Dr. Leslie Dort. When Dr. Markley first saw this product, the comments being made by people who have used it made an impression on her.
People who not only have an issue with snoring, but also people who suffer from sleep apnea, were getting relief from this simple device that resembles a baby’s pacifier.
The Good Morning Snore Solution was granted clearance to be manufactured, sold and distributed throughout Canada in 2008, and received clearance from the FDA in 2009. This product is now offered in 43 countries worldwide.
The Good Morning Snore Solution is different than other anti-snoring products.
Many products use a mouthpiece that pulls the lower jaw forward slightly to open the airway and stop snoring. This leads to jaw pain for some people and can even lead to long-term misalignment’s.
The Good Morning Snore Solution works by using a suction effect that gently pulls the tongue forward and this creates a clear airway to stop people from snoring.
This device has been clinically proven to be a successful treatment for snoring and sleep apnea.
It’s also one of the most affordable anti-snoring treatments on the market with a price tag right around $89.94 for a single pack and $129.94 for a multi-pack.
The Good Morning Snore Solution is also getting very good reviews from customers who have used it. A lot of customers have used other devices in the past and say that these other products caused jaw pain. Jaw pain is not an issue with this device.
Some customers say that it does take a little getting used to, but it’s a lot better than the jaw pain caused by those other products.
When people stop snoring, it makes it a lot easier for their husbands or wives to get a good night’s sleep. But a lot of people are saying that it also made a big difference in the quality of their own sleep.
Some people who snore regularly don’t get the deep, restful sleep their bodies need. This device helps correct that problem and it’s making a big difference for a lot of customers.
This product does not completely eliminate snoring for all customers, but for most people it is very effective. Most customers agree that the Good Morning Snore Solution is a good, cost-effective way to fix their snoring problem.

SnoreMeds is one of the most popular anti-snoring devices on the market and is recommended by medical professionals worldwide.
It is a mouthpiece that can be custom molded to fit your mouth perfectly. It’s made from high-quality, FDA approved materials that are BPA free and do not contain any latex.
The company that makes this device is owned by Michelle Hall-Jones and Philippa Logan, two entrepreneurs who have been working together for nearly 22 years. The original SnoreMeds first hit the market in 2006.
In 2010 they came out with a newer version of the device designed for women. This version has a smaller fit and a deeper bite. On their website they currently have one version that is designed for men, and another that is designed for women.
This device is available in a single, double, or value pack that consists of four mouthpieces. The single mouthpieces available for $37.95.
The double pack is available for $55.95. And the value pack that contains four mouthpieces is available for $80.
Mouthpieces to help people stop snoring have been available for many years. The SnoreMeds device is custom fitted to each individual.
It also has two holes in the front to help prevent the buildup of saliva, allow swallowing, and you can even breathe through your mouth if you are having sinus issues. The SnoreMeds mouthpieces have been proven to be successful with 85% of people who suffer from snoring.
This device is also getting great reviews from customers. One review came from a woman who said that she tried the SnoreMeds and it worked perfectly for her.
She says that it feels comfortable when she uses it and it was very easy to mold it for a perfect fit.
Another customer said that after a few nights of getting used to it, the mouthpiece is comfortable and very effective.
There was also a review from a customer who said that they have tried a number of different anti-snoring devices over the years and the SnoreMeds is the one they are going to stick with.
What Causes Snoring and Why Is It a Problem?
If you share a bed with your significant other, they will tell you why you’re snoring is a problem. It stops them from getting a restful night’s sleep.
But there are some other potential problems for the person snoring, not just the people who have to listen to it.
Before we dive a little deeper into potential health problems that snoring can cause, let’s take a closer look at why people snore. Snoring is caused when there is a partial obstruction of the upper airway behind the tongue.
When you’re awake, snoring is not an issue. But when you’re asleep, the muscles around your airway are more relaxed, the airway becomes more narrow, and that is when a partial obstruction occurs.
For some people, it’s just their anatomy that makes them prone to snoring. Some people have more tissue around the throat. If a person is overweight, this can also narrow the airway and cause snoring.
Some people have a long uvula or a long soft palate. The uvula is that bit of tissue that dangles down from the back part of the roof of your mouth.
If it’s a little longer than usual, it can cause an obstruction.
Alcohol consumption can also cause people to snore. Alcohol relaxes the muscles in the throat, decreasing the size of the airway and that is when snoring can occur.
Like we mentioned earlier, snoring can be a problem for more than just the people who have to sleep in the same room with the person who snores. People who snore often wake-up many times throughout the night, even if they don’t realize it.
And sleep deprivation can lead to a number of different problems. You may experience fatigue throughout the day or have trouble concentrating.
Not getting enough sleep can also lead to decreased memory and cognitive impairment. You’ll also be at a higher risk of occupational injury.
And of course being behind the wheel when you’re tired can be very dangerous. If you have long periods of obstructed breathing this can also put a strain on the heart and lead to high blood pressure, and also an increased risk of heart attack or stroke.
Approximately 67% of adults suffer from a snoring problem, not to mention their significant others who have to listen to it.
The good news is that there are a number of options available that are affordable and effective at helping people reduce or eliminate snoring.
We have looked at four of the most popular products currently on the market, any one of which could help you and your spouse get a more restful night’s sleep.

Dose the mouth picse work
Yes they do, mostly for mild to moderate sleep apnea. Severe cases do better with Cpap machines.
I saw your reply to someone else that if the snorer wears dentures, not to use mouth guards. I thought I had found an answer. Any other suggestions, without have a sleep study or the cpap?

I snore very bad. Would be interested in knowing what you have to share. I sleep well with a CPAP machine.
You should continue to use the cpap. My Father in law passed away from Congestive Heart Failure. He was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea many years ago and refused to wear the cpap because it was uncomfortable and he didn’t like it. Keep wearing yours. Your family will thank you..this I am certain.

Help me stop snoring or my wife will die!!!!!!!
Family states I snore very loud and I probably have sleep apnea
Cant afford to buy myself
My fiancé snores alot. Hopefully, this device to put in his mouth will help.
I have sleep apnea. I snore but don’t kno why
I wake up with a dry mouth and my room mate says I snore loud
Dry mouth can be caused because you are opening your mouth when you sleep. Try using a chin strap, perhaps it will help to keep your mouth closed. I do wear a cpap mask and lately I am whipping it off in the middle of the night because I can’t swallow because my throat is so dry. Medical supply store said I need to get a chin strap or go full face mask, not just nasal mask. I’m going to try the chin strap first. Good luck with what you try.
If you are currently using a CPAP, check your machine to see if you can add the humidifier unit. The water tray allows you to breathe in moist air that significantly reduces the sry, sore throat and nasal passages. A much better sleep.
I have a c-pap full mask and I still snore, and I still get dry mouth. I usually end up taking it off after a couple hours of sleep.
Apnea for five years now, snoring on and off for most of it.
Nothing to say
My wife and I both snore and we wanna sleep without snoring

I stop breathing in my sleep
That is a sign of sleep apnea. Get it checked out by your GP.
Oh yes, for sure – get a sleep study done. It could start happening in the daytime too, not just when you sleep. . . my breathing stops when I’m wide awake too, it’s like my breathing just decided to take a break. I know it’s from lack of sleep, it has to be that reason.
you are retarded, you do breathe in your sleep
Bill, sorry to say, but you can actually stop breathing when you sleep. I have severe sleep apnea, and after a sleep study, I found that I stopped breathing so often the technicians were alarmed for me. Got a CPAP, and now I get a good nights sleep, as does my husband. I use it religiously because I no longer snore with it. The biggest reason is because my husband shared what happens when I stop breathing at night. It freaked us both out.
i snore badly. looking for cpap machine
My husbands snoring is driving us apart
Snoring at night and trouble breathing.
Rita if you are having trouble breathing then that is a sign of sleep apnea. Have it checked out by your GP.
My husband snores loud, every night, I have to wear ear plugs…
I did that for 28 yrs & ended up with Candia (yeast infection) in my ears & (thrush, same) in Throat! Doc said, wear ear plugs every night for So Many Years , CA & Will cause problems in future in many different forms! we weren’t meant to have our ears plugged for such long periods of time. When IF They can wear a mouth piece or SOMETHING… We could All live Happily Ever After! Snoring is a Marriage & Relationship Killer! Especially when the man decides its his way or high way, tuff it out, I’m not wearing or doing anything, type of attitudes!
Hang in there.. Try a Mouth piece, let him pick it out. Take turns if must? But each will be happier!

Please encourage those who post about snoring see their MD’s. Sleep Apnea is no joke. Have a sleep study. If your doctor says you need a cpap then get one. Educate yourselves on the effects sleep apnea has on your longevity. Sleep Apnea causes one to have a lack of oxygen. Oxygen is important to our bodies. It’s so simple yet overlooked by many as inconvenient when advised a cpap is needed. I am not saying this device isn’t helpful. Purchase one if you must, then take it to your sleep study to see if it’s a positive intervention. If not, do what your doctor’s tell you. If a cpap is a must, you’ll get used to it..give it time.
You are correct. The above listed products do not work for severe sleep apnea. Only mild to moderate apnea and simple snoring. People need to go see a dr if they suspect sleep apnea. One of the signs is when the person stops breathing during sleep. Sometimes that happens many times in a night.
I had untreated sleep apnea and loud snoring for ten years as far as we can tell. . I got a sleep study done and had to get a cpap machine.
Seven years later I was diagnosed with pulmonary( lung) Hypertension, heart hypertension and the beginnings of heart failure. I was 45 years old. It’s an incurable, progressive disease! I can’t take the good meds for Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension because my heart is already damaged. There is NO reversal of this disease! It’s very real. Reggie White, famous football player died from sleep apnea years ago. I’m on disability, unable to do any daily activities , even fast excited talking without shortness of breath. It sounds and feels like I’m running a race. I have always used my cpap mask religiously! But the years of snoring that neither my husband nor myself noticed, took its toll. Neither of us were aware my breathing stopped at night. Sleep study showed I stop about 30 times an hour, but than started breathing within 30 seconds. I will die earlier than I would have. It also caused extremely high blood pressure that couldn’t be controlled without 3 strong, 24 hour meds. This is not a rare case. It kills! During my untreated years I couldn’t figure out why slowly more and more each year, then each month I was exhausted. I leaned up against the counter to brush my teeth, walking from my car to the office had me sucking for air, my legs and arms started feeling like I had been running and was retaining acid lactidosis. THIS snoring and untreated sleep apnea changed my whole life. If I’m scaring you, please be scared and get into a sleep study!!
I tried the SnoreRx and it keep me from snoring when it would stay in my mouth. The first 2 mornings I woke up with it in my mouth, but the next 23 mornings I woke up with it in the bed or on the floor. What might stay in my mouth better?
The Zquiet is much better designed and will stay in your mouth.
I do use a CPAP machine. I was looking for something just for travel
Try one of these devices and let us know how it worked out.
I’ve had 3 sleep studies done in the past 2 years….looking to see if I still had sleep apnea..I was diagnosed with it in 2001….but now they say I don’t have it but my oxygen level is dropping too low & too fast when I lay down…I’m still snoring so bad none of my grandkids will spend the night with me anymore…I’m using oxygen at bedtime but I’m still snoring & waking up tired & sleepy…I just don’t understand why the doctors can’t find out what’s wrong & why am I losing oxygen at bedtime….. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks
Re: mouthpieces: I use a chin strap which, while uncomfortable at first, prevents the mouth from opening and keeps the mouthpiece in. Shop wisely; some prices are absurd. A local CPAP supplier can help as can CPAP.com.
I just had a test in the hospital today. They told me that I have sleep ap. It is now 1 am and I am afraid to go to sleep and stop breading, I know that this has been going on for a long time, but I and still afraid. Is there anybody out there reading this now at 1am 7/10/2017? If so please respond. Thanks
If you have severe sleep apnea then a cpap machine is your best bet. Mild to moderate sleep apnea can be treated with the ZQuiet.
I have had a turbinite reduction, UPPP, and rhinoplasty surguries I still snore. HELP
I tried SOMNOGUARD AP2 it did not work for me. It is large/ bulky and has an immobilization bar in the front exactly where you breath for air intake so every time you breath its like sucking air through a straw such that you have labored breathing all night long. The device is ALL SALES FINAL No RETURNS. As far as I know it has limited clinical study and is not likely FDA approved(?) Not sure? Plus it should be DIY yet doctors are charging ~$2K to boil water and fit you in 10 minutes! Also has extractable agents that coated my mouth (woke up with film taste in mouth). NOT a 3 year solution. Not universal solution for whole planet. HIGHLY UNRECOMMENDED
Sounds like a horrible product. Try the ZQuiet instead. It’s mad in the USA with medical grade materials and you can breath normally as well.
I have a constant sinus issue, awake or asleep, which product should I try first? Do they all allow breathing through the mouth while sleeping?
You sinus problems is likely the cause for your snoring.
See this https://www.bettersleepzone.com/nose-snoring-solution/
Thanks so much for this educative information. I read online that SnoreRx is better that every other one including all the four that you reviewed and recommended. Please what can you say about this? I need to do something fast but I want to have something that will be truly effective. Snoring is killing me and putting me to shame because I have to avoid sleeping among other people outside my home. For example I cant go to camp with people, if I’m in a friends car, I must continue pinching myself no to sleep off so that I don’t embarrass them with snoring. If I dose off in the Library, people come to wake me up because I snore so loud the moment my eyes closes. Please help, I need to buy one of those devises now without delay but I want the best
Try the ZQuiet or VitalSleep. Also make sure to join the free email course.
Okay, VitalSleep seems to be more affordable, provided it is also as effective as ZQuiet.
I will order the VitalSleep, try it and give you a feedback.
Thank you.
I see some irritation/discontent with the ZQuiet amongst comments here, I’m currently using a dental appliance I’ve probably had for over 8 years, but it helps. I may buy all 4 things shown here, and figure out which works best for me. It’d still be cheaper than a custom made dental appliance that doesn’t work (like one of mine). I had a couple soft rubber ones that have to be heated and molded, but it’s very difficult to get them molded just right.
I’ve been using a cpap machine for about 10 years now and I only have one real issue with it. When the seal breaks and the air rushing onto my face wakes me up, which happens whenever I change my sleep position. This happens fairly often. If I stay on my back I don’t have much of a problem, but I have always been a natural side-sleeper. I would love a device that fits comfortably that I could use while asleep on my side. I think I’ll try the ZQuiet and/or possibly the other options shown on this site. Thank you!
If you do not suffer from severe sleep apnea, then one of these devices should help for you.
Good luck
Sometimes I have a nightmare that I can’t breathe and I wake breathless. Would you recommend having a sleep study?
If you stop breathing at night for periods of time then yes, go see your doctor.
I need help to stop snoring and open up my air way naturally without medicine
I finally set my husband up for a sleep study a couple yrs ago. He not only snores so loudly that he HAS to sleep in the guest bedroom just so i can get some sleep, but he also stops breathing so often that i have to nudge him to start breathing again. Sleep study results were that he stops breathing 96 times an hour!!! He is SEVERE. A couple weeks ago while sleeping in our camper, i was sitting on the bed crocheting and didnt hear anything. I turn around and he isnt breathing and starting to turn blue! He had a very hard time catching his breath again. Scared me to death! He has a CPAP. He would put it on, sleep like a BABY for like 20 min. After that all I would hear is “click, click”. He unhooks it and tosses it on the floor! He has tried full masks, partial, nose only, everything there is and nothing works. I dont even know what the next step is for him but Im always scared when he goes to sleep. We have also tried special pillows, chin straps, u name it. NOthing works. I’m at a loss of where to turn to next but its super scary!!
tracy, I am not a doctor by any means , or am I an authority dealing with sleeping. I have been thru the same thing , though your husband is much worse than I, i stop breathing 12-15x an hour. I can not sleep with a mask on either. Unfortunately if your husband is that bad, he is going to have to make that mask work, a snore guard that i have, which is customized by a dentist may be of some help, like it did for me. Try
hopefully this info can help someone. I am not overweight, very fitness oriented, and I started snoring about 10 yrs ago. Had no idea it was bad, but was constantly tired and restless. Got a sleep study and they said i have sleep apnea, and needed a cpap machine, spent all this money on medical bills and machines, and can’t use it, because i just can’t sleep with it on. I have purchased several of these mouth/snore guards and they never worked, always to big, and would eventually fall out of my mouth, always had jaw pain also. I went to a dentist that specializes in making these snore guards, and what an improvement, compared to the ones offered. Unfortunately it costs more than these devices, but, its worth it, your life will depend on it. Hopefully u have insurance to pick up some of the costs. I do sleep better, and my suggestion if these do not work is find a dentist that makes these, they are customized for you, not made for scale for millions. I hope this helps some.
I have to wear invisoline @ night. I snore, but none of these mouth devices can be worn with invisoline. When I had to be on extended bed rest due to an infection I suffered after a hysterectomy, I started having these episodes, while awake, when suddenly I could not breathe and had to gasp and gasp to catch my breath. It was scary. When I recovered, those episodes went away, but my snoring seems to be getting worse. I wish there was an operation I could get to just fix the problem annd be done with it. Anyone know of an operation like this?
Cpap works well for my apnea. My dentist just researched a doctor who does throat surgery for me as I have a large soft palate. My appt is in May
I have sleep apnea, but the I still stop breathing with the CPAP machine. I have done a study with the CPAP that confirms this. When I do wear the CPAP I rip it off unconsciously during my sleep. Will this device benefit me?
These devices are not really for sleep apnea even though some people have reported that it helps them with their mild Apnea.
I’d suggest you follow up with your doctor.
Good luck.
I have sleep apnea and I was told I snore horribly loud it’s so bad my sister rented us separate motel rooms because I kept her awake . My husband is awesome he doesn’t complain about my snoring he’s awesome but I’m ready for he and I to get a good night sleep, .he had sleep apnea also and he only snores when his seasonal allergies are acting up he is able to wear a nasal cpap but I have to wear the full face mask but it doesn’t work I either take it off while I’m asleep just to find out in the morning it’s off or my husband woke up one night and I was face down in my pillow with my mask on but the air couldn’t circulate .so .i’m not sure if I was breathing in or if iI been stopped breathing . I was tested for sleep apnea and for narcolepsy/ cataplexy and I have all 3 it is very difficult to live with I also have chiari malformation and had a decompression tim done in 2004 the neurosurgeon cut out a portion of the base of my skull and opened my dura and put a mesh plate in it to make more room for my brain and spinal cord .as my brain is falling into my spinal canal which is called chiari malformation . There is no cure just steps the doc can take to help the brain from falling but it’s not easy as the brain is like jello and you can not hold jello up . I hope my post may help others in finding out if they are at risk for this as it usually goes unnoticed until adult hood . Now doctors are testing unborn babies for this and they are very successful in fixing it before birth and this is also linked to sids death . Thanks for reading and I hope this info., will help someone .
so what’s keeping the mouth piece from falling out while sleeping ?
going gluten free helped my wife reduce snoring by 90%.
I’ve been told I snore and it has interrupted families sleep. Would like to stop snoring, but have an upper partial plate due to a botched dental procedure. This is supposed to be taken out at night as the metal part causes irritation of the gums if left in. Three teeth are missing when I take it out, but there is one tooth left in the back as an anchor tooth for the partial. Would one of these devices still work, if I took my partial out. I also have a lot of old large mercury based fillings in my teeth from non-dental care as a child. Does anyone know if Medicare pays anything toward dentures. I’ve thought about getting dentures to get all the mercury out of my mouth, which makes my teeth sensitive. Also, if I don’t do that, does anyone know if tooth implants for the three teeth I have missing would cost more or less than an upper denture. Would I still be able to wear some type of device for snoring, if I had dentures? Do you have to take dentures out at night. Please help!!
Thanks, Bev.
I was falling asleep driving to work and coming home. Had a sleep apnea test and found that in one hour I stopped breathing 30 times. I was told to wear a cpap machine. I stilled snored but not as bad but I move around a lot in my sleep and also claustrophobic and had issues with the cpap. So I spoke with my doctor and he told me about some skin at the back of your throat that when going to sleep it can relax and cover your breathing hole causing snoring. So I had the surgery and although I snore lightly still I feel better and I can sleep with my mate without any serious problems. Talk to your doctor about this it may help all my fellow suffer’s.
